He has been acting since the age of seven and is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. Randy made his television debut as Justin Taylor on the Showtime series "Queer as Folk." His movie credit is "Bang Bang You're Dead." Gale Harold Biography: Gale Harold was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia by Southern Pentecostal parents. He attended Southwest Dekalb High School and eventually won a soccer scholarship to attend the American University in Washington, DC. Once there, Gale studied a Liberal Arts degree in romance literature, however differences with his coach resulted in his departure after just a year and a half. He then left Washington DC for the San Francisco Art Institute to study fine arts. However, Gale squandered his academic scholarship and was eventually forced to make other plans. In 1997 he was urged by his compatriot Suzy Landau (producer for Francis Ford Coppola) to take his act to the stage. After being introduced to the actor and director Joan E. Scheckel, Gale re-located to Los Angeles and began an intensive three-year period of dramatic study and exploration. This led to his theatrical debut as Bunny in Gillian Plowman's 'Me and My Friend' at the Los Angeles Theatre Center. He also made his feature debut as Booker in Paul Scheuring's '36K'. He was subsequently accepted to, and completed, the Actor's Conservatory Program with 'A Noise Within' classical theatre company. There he appeared in productions of 'The Misanthrope' and 'Cymbeline'. Gale has recently completed his fourth season as Brian Kinney on the hit Showtime series Queer As Folk and will be back on screens in the new year with season five. During his 2004 haitus, Gale filmed 'Life on the Ledge' for director Lewis Helfer, in which he plays Chaz, a gangster who is enlisted to help protect Claire, a beautiful stripper with whom Brian (Lewis Helfer) has fallen in love. Gale also filmed 'The Unseen' this summer, staring opposite Steve Harris for writer-director Lisa France. Harold and Harris play former childhood friends who have to face issues being on opposite sides of the racial hotbed in rural Georgia. Gale's previous film credits include roles in the indie features, 'Rhinocerous Eyes', directed by Aaron Woodley, 'Particles of Truth', directed by Jennifer Elster, 'Wake', directed by Roy Finch, and '36K' directed by Paul Scheuring. Perhaps best known for his role as Emmett Honeycutt on Showtime’s hit series Queer as Folk, Peter’s other television credits include recurring and guest star roles on Will & Grace, Time of Your Life, Girlfriends, and Caroline in the City. His very first audition in Los Angeles earned him a guest-starring role on Suddenly Susan. Also an accomplished stage actor, Peter has appeared at major regional theatres throughout the country, most notably in world premieres at La Jolla Playhouse, Portland Center Stage, and Playwrights Horizons. He currently resides in Los Angeles. Hall Sparks Scott Lowell Scott Lowell is best known for his role as Ted in Showtime’s popular and critically acclaimed Queer As Folk. The groundbreaking and provocative series which examines the lives of a group of gay and lesbian friends, will bow its fifth and final season in May 2005. Scott was born in Denver, Colorado and raised in Connecticut. He majored in theater at Connecticut College and also studied acting at the National Theatre Institute. He shortly moved to Chicago where over the course of a decade, he immersed himself in the local theater, including performances at the famed Steppenwolf and The Goodman. He also landed his first TV role in Chicago on Early Edition. Scott is no stranger to the small screen however. His television credits include appearances on Frasier, Caroline in the City, and a number of successful commercial campaigns for such companies as Nike, Lexus, Budget Rent-A-Car, and Payday candy bars. On the feature front, Scott has most recently co-starred in On the Edge for Showtime. He also appeared in such feature films as The Debtors, Damned If You Do, Ladies from LA, Love Bites (Sundance 1999) and Opus 27 in which he played a young Ludwig von Beethoven. As a result of her work on this show, she was also honoured with the 2003 National Leadership Award from the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and this year with the 2006 Spotlight Award from PFLAG DC. Other television and film appearances include lead and support roles in; HOMECOMING, TRUTH, REUNION, ANDROMEDA, TORNADO WARNING, SIGHTINGS: HEARTLAND GHOST, TRIAL OF A SERIAL KILLER, SWAP, SEED, DANTE'S COVE, LESSER EVIL and COMMON GROUND. Michelle Clinie Michelle Clunie was born in Portland, Oregon. As a child, she was very shy and introverted, obsessed only with her rock collection. Michelle's mother introduced her to dance, art and music in an effort to "break her out of her shell." She took up dancing and playing the violin, went on to win several competitions in both, a scholarship to The Academy of Professional Ballet, and spent the last year of high school receiving class credit for work she did with The Keith Martin ballet company. Her first taste of acting was in 5th grade in, "Cinderrabbit," a "rabbit" version of the timeless story, in which she played the title roll. Her next moment of inspiration came when she saw Lauren Bacall in "To Have and Have Not." After high school she hocked her violin for $200 and moved to Los Angeles. There she landed a Crest Toothpaste commercial for MTV, produced the play "Comedy of Eros," for which her one act was entitled, "Confessions Of A Raging Male Heterosexual." Playing an insane Greenwich Village woman that takes out her aggressions on men, the role earned her the Los Angeles Dramalougue award for Best Actress. Milton Katselas soon took her under his wing. She studied with him for ten years, work-shopping and performing under his direction. She had the opportunity to work on Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller and Eugene O'Neil plays, of which her favorites include; Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, After the Fall and Antigone. Michelle has worked regularly in television and film, and was a series regular on The Jeff Foxworthy show for CBS, as the Cajun-Italian spitfire Dee-Dee Landreaux. She was looking for something challenging and revolutionary to work on when her agent sent her the script that would change her career. The Boston Globe reviewed her Performance on Queer as Folk: "Michelle Clunie is irresistible as Melanie. Her rage is wonderful to behold, it's what Queer as Folk at it's best can be, honest and unashamed."She toured briefly with the critically acclaimed "Vagina Monologues," raising money to stop violence against women. The New York Times reviewed her work in "Damaged Care" (the film in which she appeared with Laura Dern for Showtime) and applauded her, saying, "She proved she could go beyond her series regular role... with a character like a chocolate covered spider." Currently, she is developing two projects with her business partner, is in the midst of writing her second script, and looks forward to two more years on Queer as Folk, playing the role of Melanie Marcus. Chris Potter Born in Toronto, Potter discovered a love of acting in school but never considered pursuing it as a career. Eventually he worked as a stockbroker in Europe and in Canada, while continuing to perform in amateur theater productions. He caught the attention of Martha Henry, one of Canada's leading actresses, who cast him in the Canadian production of "Biloxi Blues" in Toronto. Potter won rave reviews and within a month landed a leading role in the CBC television series "Material World" (1990). He made a name for himself in television starring in two long-running popular dramatic series, which at one point let to him appearing on screen in two different roles at the same time. He played David Carradine's son and crime fighting partner in "Kung Fu: The Legend Continues" (1993), which debuted in 1993 and aired for four seasons, and starred as a hard-hitting police sergeant for three years in USA Network's "Silk Stalkings" (1991), for which he also served as an episode director. GLESS, SHARON U.S. Actor Sharon Gless, who worked primarily in supporting roles for a number of series and TV movies in the late 1970s and early 1980s, rose to stardom as Christine Cagney in the female cop show, Cagney & Lacey (1982-88). Two of her more prominent roles before Cagney & Lacey anticipated aspects of the Cagney character. In a short-lived NBC sitcom, Turnabout (1979), Gless played Penny Alston, whose mind and spirit are exchanged with those of her husband. Gless's character thus explored gender differences through the split between a feminine exterior and masculine motivations. Three years later, Gless was tapped to take over the co-starring role in House Calls when Lynn Redgrave was forced out of the series. It was the experience of trying to take over in the wake of a popular actor's departure that made Gless hesitate when she was offered the role of Christine Cagney. In the TV movie, Cagney had been played by Loretta Switt, and in the first season of the series, the character had been portrayed by Meg Foster. A CBS executive touched off a protest from fans, however, when he made a statement suggesting Foster was not feminine enough for the role, making the team of Chris Cagney and Mary Beth Lacey (played by Tyne Daly) look like "a pair of dykes." Renewal of the series was contingent on replacing Foster with someone "softer." Though initially seen by fans as a sellout to the network, Gless soon gained acceptance from the devoted audience of Cagney & Lacey. Ironically, she developed a substantial following among lesbian viewers, according to critic Julie D'Acci. Not only did Cagney contrast with her married, working class partner, but, as played by Gless, Christine Cagney embodied a number of contradictions in class and gender. Her soft blonde beauty played against the tough shell she maintained both on the job and in many of her personal encounters. Her working class-Irish-cop identity, inherited from her father, clashed with the sleek, upper crust veneer she had acquired from her mother. Her career success contrasted with a string of unhappy romances in her personal life. Although Gless has said she considers herself primarily a comedienne, Cagney & Lacey provided the opportunity for her to grow as a dramatic actor. In the first three years of the series, Gless was nominated for an Emmy, but Daly received the award for best actress in a dramatic series. The following two years, however, the Emmy went to Gless, and in the final year of the series, the Emmy went back to Daly. Gless took pride in her contribution to the substance and quality of the series: "We're pioneering. . . ," she said in a story for McCall's. "We're showing women who can do a so-called man's job without ever forgetting that they are women." Since the end of Cagney & Lacey in 1988, Gless has married Barney Rosenzweig, who created another series for her, The Trials of Rosie O'Neill (1990-1991). In the role of the title character, Gless again portrayed a single, upscale character connected with the law--this time a newly divorced, well-heeled lawyer, working in the cramped, underfunded offices of Los Angeles public defenders. Gless won a Golden Globe Award for her work in the series before it was canceled. He majored in theater at Connecticut College and also studied acting at the National Theatre Institute. He shortly moved to Chicago where over the course of a decade, he immersed himself in the local theater, including performances at the famed Steppenwolf and The Goodman. In a short-lived NBC sitcom, Turnabout (1979), Gless played Penny Alston, whose mind and spirit are exchanged with those of her husband. Gless's character thus explored gender differences through the split between a feminine exterior and masculine motivations. Three years later, Gless was tapped to take over the co-starring role in House Calls when Lynn Redgrave was forced out of the series. >It was the experience of trying to take over in the wake of a popular actor's departure that made Gless hesitate when she was offered the role of Christine Cagney. In the TV movie, Cagney had been played by Loretta Switt, and in the first season of the series, the character had been portrayed by Meg Foster. A CBS executive touched off a protest from fans, however, when he made a statement suggesting Foster was not feminine enough for the role, making the team of Chris Cagney and Mary Beth Lacey (played by Tyne Daly) look like "a pair of dykes." Renewal of the series was contingent on replacing Foster with someone "softer." Her soft blonde beauty played against the tough shell she maintained both on the job and in many of her personal encounters. Her working class-Irish-cop identity, inherited from her father, clashed with the sleek, upper crust veneer she had acquired from her mother. Her career success contrasted with a string of unhappy romances in her personal life. >Although Gless has said she considers herself primarily a comedienne, Cagney & Lacey provided the opportunity for her to grow as a dramatic actor. In the first three years of the series, Gless was nominated for an Emmy, but Daly received the award for best actress in a dramatic series. The following two years, however, the Emmy went to Gless, and in the final year of the series, the Emmy went back to Daly. Gless took pride in her contribution to the substance and quality of the series: "We're pioneering. . . ," she said in a story for McCall's. "We're showing women who can do a so-called man's job without ever forgetting that they are women." >Since the end of Cagney & Lacey in 1988, Gless has married Barney Rosenzweig, who created another series for her, The Trials of Rosie O'Neill (1990-1991). In the role of the title character, Gless again portrayed a single, upscale character connected with the law--this time a newly divorced, well-heeled lawyer, working in the cramped, underfunded offices of Los Angeles public defenders. Gless won a Golden Globe Award for her work in the series before it was canceled.
